The advert i have choosen to anaylse by using Mise-en-scene is Lynx-Excite. I have choosen to use this advert as when watching the advert i was able to look at the structure and adapt my own ideas from the camera perspective not the audience perspective. Mise-en-scene meaning: the name given for the arrangement of scenery to represent the place where a play or movie is enacted.
LOCATION AND SETTING:
The advert is set in a small relgious town in croatia and therefore there are many religious connotations for example the angels falling from heaven. (as you assocaite angels with heaven) throught the advert there are a various different scenes for example in the main square, the middle of the road and outside a ladies house. This could resemble the idea that the product is so addictive that you are able to smell it from anywhere.
COSTUMES AND MAKEUP:
There is no age group specificly because throught all the scenes there are different ages and no specific gender. (male and female, child,adult and elder) there is so social classes dominating throughout the advert as you have a mixture, for example: the little child at the begging dressed in dull and ripped clothing walking through a alley way contrasting with the rich and smart business man sitting have a business lunch, he is dressed smartly and therefore gains more respect. The different colour clothing could resemble the different personalitys for example the lady on the street has a dull expression on her face compared to the main in the suit with a happy expression.
PROPS:
The angels used throughout the advert can be seen as props as it could be seen that the angels were sent from heaven to find the distinctive but addictive smell. as they are one of the main focuses throughout as they are constantly falling from the sky. The scenes are focused in a normal village life for example all the villagers doing there day to day life for example the taxi driver and then is soonly astonished by the beauty of the angel and is speechless. All the angels are women this could resemble the target audience: males. it could back up the idea that by using this product you are attracting "angel" like women. For example one of the angels falls infront of a car this unlying message could portray the idea of effecting day to day life and making a statement.
LIGHTING AND COLOUR:
When the young boy enters at the beginning the lighting is dark and intimidate this could resemble the sombre mood of the boy and reflect on social classes. the light begins to brighten up as the angels begin to fall. when the angels fall from the sky the light is focused on them and they are englighted this could reflect the idea of new, fresh and vibrent light. when you smell the fragence you then become englighted by the product and are determind to find the person. The angels are then smashing there halos on the floor this could reflect on the idea they have found the person and now what to become immortal to be with him as it is so addictive.
